Tampa cruise parking at Port Tampa Bay means the Channelside Parking Garage at 810 Channelside Drive, across the street from Cruise Terminal 3. You prepay a pass online by cruise line, and valet is a $20 upgrade. Private lots a few blocks away can cost less.

I have driven to cruise ports all over Florida for years, and the lesson repeats at every one of them. Settle where the car goes before you settle anything else, because the parking decision sets the shape of your boarding morning. Tampa makes that easy. The terminals share one compact district, so most of the work is choosing a lot and a pass.

Port Tampa Bay Cruise Parking

The port runs cruise parking itself and sells it ahead of time. On Port Tampa Bay’s cruise parking page you pick your cruise line and buy a pass, and the page lists self, valet and oversized parking. The table below puts the port garage next to the two private lots that publish details.

For most drivers the garage is the simplest option. The pass is tied to your sailing, and the walk is one street crossing.

Tampa Cruise Parking Garage

There is one port garage to remember. It is the Channelside Parking Garage at 810 Channelside Drive, an indoor facility across from the central terminal. The port gives its office number as 813-906-1904. Signs on site point cruise passengers the right way.

The port’s terminal guide splits arrival into two routes. Follow the blue route for passenger drop-off and valet, and the red route for secure parking at the port. It also asks you to arrive before your zone departure time.

My habit is to drop everyone and the bags first, then park and walk back. It costs one extra lap and saves hauling suitcases across a street. Valet skips the walk if you want it.

Some drivers qualify for free parking. Under the port’s rules, vehicles with ramps, lifts or hand or foot controls, Florida disabled veteran plates and the Florida Toll Exemption permit are exempt. You show a Florida driver’s license and registration to an attendant. That free parking is at 810 Channelside Drive and 1331 McKay Street, when a ship is in port and space allows, and attendants grant no other waivers.

Tampa Cruise Port Parking Cost

The port’s own pages do not print a per-day rate for the garage. You see the price on its prepay page after choosing your cruise line, and the only fee stated outright is the $20 valet upgrade. That prepay site calls the pass the only official cruise parking provided by Port Tampa Bay and says it is refundable for any reason before your cruise date.

So the number that counts is the one at checkout for your sailing. Write it down next to your cruise fare, then add $20 if you want valet. I would prepay and keep the confirmation on my phone.

Cheaper lots exist, but they trade money for a longer walk or a shuttle.

Tampa Cruise Terminal Parking

Port Tampa Bay has three cruise terminals, all on the Channel District side of downtown. The terminal guide gives Terminal 2 as 651 Channelside Drive, Terminal 3 as 815 Channelside Drive and Terminal 6 as 1333 McKay Street. Eight vessels from five lines call Tampa home: Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian and Margaritaville at Sea.

No port page pairs each line with a terminal, so the lines’ own pages fill the gap. Carnival lists Terminal 3. Margaritaville at Sea lists Terminal 6, at 1331 McKay Street, where it says self-parking spaces are limited and the port recommends prepaying. The port’s own list gives Terminal 6 as 1333 McKay Street, so enter the terminal name in your map app and follow the signs.

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity list Terminals 2 and 3 for Tampa. Both tell you to confirm your terminal against your itinerary because pier assignments can change, and signs on site show your ship’s terminal. Your boarding documents have the final say.

Cruise Terminal 3 Tampa

Terminal 3 is the central terminal, at 815 Channelside Drive, and the one the port garage faces. Carnival’s own page lists it as the terminal for Tampa sailings. Parking, check-in and the ship are all within a block or two.

Carnival lets you choose an arrival appointment during online check-in and asks everyone in your stateroom to arrive within it. You need your boarding pass, photo ID and citizenship documents at the desk. Checked baggage service ends 2 hours before the ship’s published departure time, so a late arrival can cost you a bag.

If you reach Tampa early, there is nowhere to leave luggage. The port says the terminals have no baggage storage for early arrivals. The Florida Aquarium at 701 Channelside Drive, next to Terminal 2, stores bags free with a discounted admission ticket.

Off Site Cruise Parking Tampa

Private lots on and near Channelside Drive compete on price. Harbor Lot, at 1304 Channelside Drive, lists $7 a day through November 21 and $15 a day from November 22. Its site says the lot is under a mile from the port and that you walk to the terminal until shuttle service begins on November 22. Reservations are refundable until the day of departure, according to the lot.

Park4Cruise says it sits in the Channel District, gives a walk of under 6 minutes and a shuttle ride of under 1 minute, and runs a fenced lot. It lists no daily rate, so call or check at booking.

A saving of a few dollars a day adds up on a long cruise. On a short cruise with luggage, though, the port garage’s one-street walk is hard to beat. If you are weighing Florida ports, our Port Canaveral cruise parking and Port of Miami cruise parking guides show how the same trade-off plays out there.

Tampa Cruise Port From Airport

Tampa International Airport is about 15 minutes from the Channel District, according to the port. Royal Caribbean puts the airport about 10 miles from the terminals. A rideshare or taxi skips the parking question entirely, and Carnival sells airport transfers through Manage My Booking or its reservations line, up to 2 days before sailing.

Once you are in the district, the free TECO Line Streetcar can shuttle you around. Its Port Tampa Bay Station sits at McKay Street and Channelside Drive. Cars run every 15 minutes, with service from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM Monday through Thursday and later on weekends, per the streetcar’s site.
