About Pack and Go Vacation

Practical trip planning, destination guides and packing lists for people who would rather be on vacation than researching one.

Who writes this

Two people write Pack and Go Vacation, and between them they have covered nearly every state.

Jonah Pruitt

Jonah Pruitt writes the destination guides and road-trip plans on Pack and Go Vacation. He grew up in South Florida, where a weekend meant a boat, the Keys and a reef at John Pennekamp, and he spent his childhood summers on a family farm in the Midwest. Since then he has driven through nearly every state, has stood on the beaches of Hawaii and the trails of Machu Picchu, and has run rivers in Colorado in rafts, canoes and kayaks. His guides are built the way he travels: what the day actually looks like hour by hour, what it costs, what to skip, and what to book before you go. Nieces and nephews have tested most of the family itineraries.

Meredith Lane

Meredith Lane writes the packing lists, beach guides and family-trip plans on Pack and Go Vacation. Raised on a farm in the Midwest, she lived in Chicago before moving west to Southern California, and the long drives between those lives turned her into a packer: everything in its place, nothing forgotten, dogs included. She has visited nearly every state and Hawaii, has a large family of nieces and nephews who join her on trips, and has spent enough years around horses, dogs and cats to know that a pet-friendly hotel and a “pets allowed” hotel are not the same thing. Her lists are the ones she actually uses, trimmed of everything that never left the suitcase.
